Account information incorrect
Update
Official Valve post:
http://store.steampowered.com/news/19852/

-------------------------------------
We've gotten reports that people sometimes see other people's account information on the account page. Valve has been made aware of this and are working on a fix.

Some frequently asked questions:
- No, Steam is not hacked
- Creditcard info, as required by law, censored and not visible to users on said page

25 Dec 2015, 23:16 GMT: The issue now appears to have been resolved, and the Steam Store is back online.

Valve Statement
Steam is back up and running without any known issues. As a result of a configuration change earlier today, a caching issue allowed some users to randomly see pages generated for other users for a period of less than an hour. This issue has since been resolved. We believe no unauthorized actions were allowed on accounts beyond the viewing of cached page information and no additional action is required by users.

As it keeps coming up, Valve has released a statement to the media on the issue. That statement is what is being quoted, so it is an official Valve statement.

Ah, finally some centralized info!

AFAIK only other users' email, wallet amount, phone's and card's last 4 numbers and purchase history have been leaked. You can't even buy anything or top up other users' wallets as the system denies you access saying "This is not your account"

Jesus finally! I've been beside myself with worry! I know I wasn't the only one either, so that makes me feel a little better... But not by much!

Please keep this up to date! Don't just let us shiver in apprehension and fear on Christmas, man.

Good thing we're protected by the highest form of security, so nothing bad can happen.

I believe not. Trying to alter any information or content of someone else's account results on a "This is not your account" error. You should be safe.

People have been getting into other's billing information. Good to know our information is secure with Steam...

Glad no one can use my money. I got scared for awhile cause I couldn't see my account info thought someone was going to steal my info.

Ok thank you for the update, I knew something was up when I kept getting other people's account information. Thankfully the people who got mine, emailed me to explain, that they were shocked and thought I should know they were not going to do anything

Unless your email is part of your billing information, there was no information leaked. 4 last digits of your card, 4 last of phone... None of the actual leaked info can be used against you, as per consumer protective laws (your billing information is NEVER shown, even to you - you can only alter it to new values)

If it were not against the rules, I'd post here the very same information leaked about my account and challenge anyone to buy a game for their account :D

I know I'm gonna be concerned. I don't appreciate the fact that my email is publicly visible. The multiple emails from individuals that saw it confirm the fact.

TOS violation on Steam's behalf?
