Magic circle firm Clifford Chance, New York firm Wachtell Lipton and international firm Steptoe & Johnson are acting in a £3.2bn claim lodged in the High Court last week by IT giant Hewlett-Packard against former executives of a UK company it acquired in 2011.

In one of the largest civil cases brought in the UK against British nationals, HP is suing two former Autonomy executives for allegedly ‘artificially inflating’ the value of Autonomy, which it says led HP to overpay for the firm by £3.2bn ($5.1bn).

Autonomy’s founder and former chief executive Mike Lynch said the claims are baseless.
