Brewster Man, Carmel Woman Involved in Dover NY Stabbing

The incident occurred during a drug deal, police said.

A Brewster man and a Carmel woman were arrested after a stabbing in Dover, NY, New York State police say.

Investigators arrested them and a Wingdale NY resident Feb. 7 following a reported stabbing at the High Meadows Mobile Home Park.

  • Jonathan Earley, 23, of Wingdale, was charged with Assault 2nd Degree (Class D Felony)
  • Steven Tomassetti, 26, of Brewster, was charged with Attempted Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 5th (Class E Felony)
  • [Redacted], of Carmel, was charged with Making a False Punishable Statement (Class A Misdemeanor).

Police allege the three were involved in a drug transaction, which culminated in a fight that ended with Tomassetti being stabbed by Earley.

And, police say, [redacted] provided false information about the incident in a written statement to police.

Tomassetti was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital where he was treated and released.

Earley was arraigned before the Town of Dover Honorable Judge Abrams and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.

[Redacted] and Tomassetti were released on appearance tickets returnable in the Town of Dover Court.
