On August 5, Reverend Franklin Graham criticized Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) for opposing legislation that would defund Planned Parenthood and said the minority leader has lost his “moral compass.” Graham’s comments come after the release of five videos showing Planned Parenthood’s top executives haggling over the price of aborted babies’ body parts and discussing ways to alter abortion procedures to obtain salable organs.
On Facebook, Graham said, “Senator Harry Reid outrageously declared yesterday that Republicans had ‘lost their moral compass’ after they were unable to get the 60 votes needed to move the bill in Congress forward that would defund Planned Parenthood. You’ve got it backwards Senator Reid. You lost your moral compass years ago! You openly support abortion – the murder of babies in their mothers’ wombs – and now by backing Planned Parenthood you obviously support the dismemberment and sale of baby body parts.”
“Shame on you and each one in Congress who did not support defunding Planned Parenthood. One day you will stand before God, and the blood of these innocent children will cry out for justice,” he concluded.
As LifeNews previously reported, in July, Graham said that those who perform abortions have “no conscience” after the first undercover video was released by the Center for Medical Progress. Graham explained, “Abortion is a sin and is clearly murder in God’s eyes. The people who perform it have no conscience, so I’m not at all surprised that they would be selling organs, tissue, and body parts from babies. Planned Parenthood should be put out of business. They’ve done enough damage.”
He concluded, “Sin has an enormous price. Our nation will one day have to answer to God for the millions of innocent lives taken by abortion, and that applies to every politician who voted for and defended abortion. Thankfully though, no sin is too great for God’s forgiveness — even murder.”
In the most recent video, the Director of Research for Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, Melissa Farrell, brags about the Texas Planned Parenthood branch’s track record of fetal tissue sales, including its ability to deliver fully intact aborted babies. She explained, “Where we probably have an edge over other organizations, our organization has been doing research for many years. Then when the buyers inquire about a specific part from the aborted fetus, Farrell says, “We bake that into our contract, and our protocol, that we follow this, so we deviate from our standard in order to do that.”
Center for Medical Progress president David Daleiden, who coordinated the shocking undercover videos, said the following about the newest footage: “This is now the fifth member of Planned Parenthood leadership discussing payments for aborted baby parts without any connection to actual costs of so-called tissue ‘donation.’ Planned Parenthood’s system-wide conspiracy to evade the law and make money off of aborted fetal tissue is now undeniable.”
He continued, “Anyone who watches these videos knows that Planned Parenthood is engaged in barbaric practices and human rights abuses that must end. There is no reason for an organization that uses illegal abortion methods to sell baby parts and commit such atrocities against humanity to still receive over $500 million each year from taxpayers.”
In the first video, Planned Parenthood medical director, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, tells actors posing as buyers from a human biologics company that their abortionists are very skilled at obtaining body parts during abortions. She said, “I’d say a lot of people want liver. And for that reason, most providers will do this case under ultrasound guidance, so they’ll know where they’re putting their forceps. The kind of rate-limiting step of the procedure is calvarium. Calvarium—the head—is basically the biggest part.”
She added, “We’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna crush that part, I’m gonna basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact.”
