A California jogger was struck and injured by a car driven by rocker David Crosby at significant speed, according to multiple reports.

Local TV station KEYT near Santa Ynez, Calif., where Crosby lives, reported that Jose Jimenez, 46, was jogging when he was struck by a 2015 Black Tesla driven by Crosby on Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

TMZ and CNN also reported on the collision. CNN quoted CHP spokesman Don Clotworthy.

Crosby's vehicle was travelling at 55 miles an hour, the posted speed on the road.

Jimenez was knocked down and suffered multiple fractures, abrasions and lacerations. He was airlifted to a hospital in Santa Barbara, but his injuries were not considered life threatening.

CHP investigators said Crosby may have been unable to see Jiminez in the roadway because of sun glare. He stopped immediately to offer aid following the collision.

The musician, who battled drug problems during his big-time rock-star days, was not impaired by alcohol or drugs, according to investigators.

His publicist issued a statement on his behalf on Monday.

"David Crosby is obviously very upset that he accidentally hit anyone. And, based off of initial reports, he is relieved that the injuries to the gentleman were not life threatening. He wishes the jogger a very speedy recovery," said public relations manager Michael Jensen.

Crosby, 73, was driving near his home in Santa Ynez at the time of the collision. An inductee of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Crosby is a long-time resident of the Santa Ynez Valley.

Last year, Crosby, a stalwart of the famed 1970s band Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, had heart surgery to fix a blocked coronary artery, forcing him to postpone sold-out California shows.

His last album, Croz, his first since 1993, teamed him with his son John Raymond, and got good reviews.
