iOS: Yelp isn’t always the most reliable source for a great restaurant. Establishments might fudge reviews; users might leave feedback based on stuff you don’t care about. Dine is a simplified version of the Yelp experience, telling you only what you want to know about a restaurant.
Currently, Dine is only available in eight cities: Austin, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco, and Washington DC. Rather than rely on Yelp reviews, the app shows you reviews from publications and restaurant critics. To find places to eat, you tell the app what neighborhood you want, what kind of food you want, and then you can select from a handful of features you’re looking for in your restaurant: BYOB, Date, Brunch, Dine at the Bar, etc.
To me, the features are what set this app apart. You can see when restaurants are open on Yelp and whether or not they serve booze. But you can’t filter by other details that you might want from your dining experience, and I spend more time than I’d like combing through reviews to find those specific details. This app does all the research for you. Plus, it offers reviews from the pros.
