We’ve heard Bulgaria is good value, but want help from those who know more than we do

Every week a Guardian Money reader submits a question, and it’s up to you to help him or her out – a selection of the best answers will appear in next Saturday’s paper.

This week’s question:

We are a couple in our late 20s who’d like to try skiing without spending a fortune. Friends have suggested Bulgaria, but the online reviews are very mixed and I fear a lack of snow. Would it be a good choice to try it out, or is there a better value option elsewhere?
