Michelle Keegan was spotted on the set for new BBC drama Ordinary Lies

The 27-year-old actress was spotted on the Warrington set of Ordinary Lies – which is Michelle's first starring role since she departed Coronation Street last May – earlier on today.

Michelle braved the cold in a navy blue padded jacket. black leggings and fur-lined walking boots as she filmed scenes for the BBC drama.

The former Corrie starlet left her brunette locks loose in a cascade of waves and added a stylish plaited braid in as her hairband.

Also joining Michelle on set was her comedy co-star Jason Manford, who was clearly feeling the chill in Cheshire.

Max Beesley, Jason Manford, Mackenzie Crook, Jo Joyner and Sally Lindsay are also among the other names starring in the drama, which hits screens this year and has been written by BAFTA and Emmy-winning writer Danny Brocklehurst.

A recent short trailer, revealed what viewers can expect from the six-part series. While the footage didn't give too many spoilers away, it seemed to suggest Michelle's character is a young party girl and wannabe WAG who dreams of living the life of luxury.

The mini clip also sees Michelle jumping into a pool with her co-star Cherrelle Skeete, who plays her partner in crime.

Set in a car salesroom in the north of England, Ordinary lies focuses on "a group of compelling characters all dealing with every day dilemmas and what happens when the lies people tell to keep their heads above water spin out of control with sometimes tragic, sometimes funny consequences".

Commenting on the show, the programme's producer, Tom Sherry, said: "Ordinary Lies is full of gripping suspense as well as dark humour and should have audiences shouting at the screen "don't do it!” yet also laughing along with them."

"We are making a drama with great ambition both in scale and look which is reflected in the wonderful talent that will lead the cast and the skilful directors that will bring Danny’s vision to life."
