#WalangForever: Homer and Marge of 'The Simpsons' to split again

It turns out even cartoon characters can't keep their marriage intact.

Homer and Marge of the long-running comedy show "The Simpsons" are going to "legally separate" in the show's upcoming season, its executive producer Al Jean said in an interview with Variety

"The Simpsons," is about to head into its 27th season.

According to Jean, it will be discovered in its premiere that "after all the years Homer has narcolepsy and it's an incredible strain on the marriage."

"Homer and Marge legally separate, and Homer falls in love with his pharmacist, who's voiced by Lena Dunham," he said.

It's no longer a surprise, however, says a separate report from the Los Angeles Times, since the two have been divorced in previous seasons

It said that in Season 8, "Homer secretly divorces Marge because he believes she deserves better, but then quickly remarries her at the end of the episode."

It adds that 12 seasons later, it's revealed "that at the time of their second wedding, the Rev. Lovejoy's license to officiate weddings had expired," so they had been divorced still the whole time.

The said error was "rectified, of course, by the end of the episode." - Rose-An Jessica Dioquino/JJ, GMA News
