Pasang Masda: No COMET e-jeeps plying NAIA route

The transport group Pasang Masda has denied that the e-shuttles of the City Optimized Managed Electric Transport (COMET) were operating a route that served the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, as alleged by Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano on Monday.

COMET's e-shuttles are operating under the Pasang Masda group.

"Baka nagkaroon lang ng maling impormasyon ang ating kagalang-galang na Senador Alan Peter Cayetano," Pasang Masda national president Roberto "Ka Obet" Martin told GMA News.

According to a report on GMA News' "24 Oras", the 13 e-shuttles have provisional authority to operate even if they still have no franchise.

Pasang Masda also denied that one of the owners of the company that distributed the e-shuttles was an official of the Department of Transportation and Communication.

The DOTC itself has already issued a statement denying the allegation.

Martin, whose group is a stakeholder of the COMET, said the 13 units were being thoroughly inspected and these would soon be ready for deployment.

“Ang ginawa po ng GET Philippines ngayon ay inupgrade lahat to see to it na lahat ng bibiyahe sa June 1 ay A1 condition na,” Martin said.
