People out there in the world now talk about the

reggae revival, it's because the youth have

now found the joy

of making original music once again.

And making roots music, not having to go

to a roots rhythm that was made in the seventies

to voice their song and honor rhythm that was created

in the 70's.

But now realizing uou can create this

music yourself.

(drumming)

So what's new, then.

I don't do or find news on, um, what people call urgent.

I don't do or find.

I do or find continent, progress.

(dress flapping)

It is apparent that's happening in the

earth right now.

There's a shift of consciousness.

♫ My natural advantage I'm proclaiming,

♫ These spirals not the course of life

♫ And represent the force of life

♫ Connected to the source of life

♫ So make no mistake

♫ There is life in abundance for all to partake.

♫ So war is redundant and it is futile

Over there is when King Sun Dub Club is kept

to like a dub club every Sunday.

♫ The bands of money coming in

♫ Will change the ones around ya

♫ Be wise it can not stop you gettin' older

♫ But still, but still, I admit that I get

♫ Caught up in the game

There's my boy Che, there's Chronics

(mumbling)

The revival is nuts, it's not a musical revival.

The revival is a demographic, social revival.

Ya know what I mean?

A spiritual revival.

It's not a musical revival

because the music that we are making somebody

was always making that.

Just that a few years ago nobody was

paying any attention to it.

(singing)

(laughter)

(reggae music)

You have to remember that Jamaican music

wasn't always reggae.

Jamaican music was mental music, Calypso music

blue beats, ska, rock steady, reggae, ya know

all this music is Jamaican music, and the

music associated with this awakening

of consciousness became what is known

as roots music.

(applause)

(lively reggae music)

I've never want to be like I do this type of music.

Music is free, you can not control music.

You can not control expression.

This music is life to us.

We do this all day everyday.

It is the reason why we get up.

It is the reason why we take our rest, ya

know wha I mean?

It's to be strong for this mission, ya.

♫ Ya ya ya ya ya

♫ Man we are not real today

♫ what we are tomorrow same way ya ya

♫ Man not real what we are today

♫ Tomorrow we na go straight boom

♫ Man a survivor, black version of Magayver.

♫ Feed the people, them a all cry Jah, not enough ...

♫ Man not real what we are today

♫ What we are tomorrow same way ya ya

(birds chirping)

♫ Wake up my people we've got work to do

♫ Remember people to yourself be true

♫ Prepare my people for the mission ahead

♫ Right now in Babylon the time so dread

♫ Wake up my people we've got work to do

It's so heartwarming to see how many spaces

now are available where it's just reggae

dub, it's not dance hall at all,

it's just reggae, it's just roots music.

You an go everyday of the week, there

is roots music.
