Save the Date: Patriots Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on August 5

Today, the New England Patriots have announced a date for this year's Hall of Fame induction ceremony: it will take place on August 5 at 5:00 p.m. ET outside the Hall at Patriot Place. As usual, the event is free and open to the public.

Two of the greatest defenders the franchise has ever seen – linebacker Willie McGinest and defensive lineman Houston Antwine – will get their red jackets on that day.

McGinest was drafted with the fourth overall pick in 1994 and spent the first 12 years of his 15-year career in Foxborough. He has been a leader of the Patriots' early dynasty and was an integral part of three Super Bowl winning teams. Furthermore, he was voted to two of New England's All-Decade-Teams (1990s and 2000s) and holds the NFL's all-time record for postseason sacks with 16.0.

While McGinest was voted to the Hall by the fans, Antwine was selected by a senior committee. The defensive lineman joined the Patriots in 1961 and played 11 seasons in New England. He was an AFL All-Star six times and, after the merger, was named a member of the league's All-Time-Team.

After the enshrinement ceremony, season ticket holders and Foxborough residents are able to attend the Patriots' training camp session inside Gillette Stadium.
