it doesnt matter people will still hate on this game and overhype console games. watch, if a game thats like a carbon copy of star citizen come out on console they would act like its the second coming and still say its on games on pc worth playing.

Pathetic! Especially since there's quite a few ads on his page that he'd get money for this half-assed attempt at journalism.

Star Citizen - Looks beyond epic, makes me wish I was a PC gamer (there's a reason I'm not though.) I certainly hope this game more than delivers because if it busts, there goes kickstarter itself down the drain, along with many others dreams.

I really don't like the idea of charging so much money for exclusive ships you may lose if your insurance lapses. Furthermore, the developers have many ships available for a limited time, which means people will pay repeatedly for various ships. Those who are completely obsessed can pay $100s for crazy ships which basically guarantee they will be among the elite once the game launches. In addition, you can fork over $40 for hangar upgrades, $20 for cross-chasis upgrades and for the truly brainwashed, they offer a basic $120 or "special" $240/year development "subscriptions". All this money being forked over for something that isn't even completed yet.

Now I'm not counting this game out, however I'd like to see more before I decide to give out my money. I was upset when I gave to Early Access and lost $20 on some crappy games however I can't even imagine forking over $100s on something unproven. It's as though you have to pay-to-win in some aspects because basic ships won't have a chance and even if you wanted to work your way up to the big leagues without spending a fortune, it could take years.

Update, Chris told Venture Beat you can pay $4000 and you will unlock the customization option.

Is anything soon with this game? At this point I blame those who keep throwing money at it.
