Work Week Weather: Cool Continues

The snow showers and frost warnings last week in northern Westchester were disconcerting, to say the least.

And apparently April will end on a similar note.

“As we kick off the work week… this cool trend looks to continue,” says Bill Potter on Hudson Valley Weather. “Wednesday appears to be the big winner at the moment, with lots of sun to start the day, maybe a few PM clouds… but we could break 70° in the afternoon. That sounds fantastic… but as hard as it may be to believe… that would only be a few degrees above average for this point in the season.”

Still, temperature swings are not uncommon for the spring in the Northeast, AccuWeather.com points out.

Here’s the forecast for northern Westchester:

• Today-Mostly cloudy. A chance of showers this afternoon. Highs around 60. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.
• Tonight-Mostly cloudy. A slight chance of showers in the evening. Lows in the lower 40s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
• Tuesday-Mostly sunny. Highs in the mid 60s. North winds 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
• Tuesday Night-Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 40s. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Gusts up to 20 mph in the evening.
• Wednesday-Sunny. Highs in the upper 60s. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph.
• Wednesday Night-Partly cloudy. Lows in the mid 40s.
• Thursday-Partly sunny. Highs in the lower 60s.
• Thursday Night-Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of rain. Lows in the mid 40s.
• Friday-Mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of rain. Highs around 60.
