Firmware Friday frenzy: Fujifilm floods us with features and fixes

Firmware Friday this week is all about Fujifilm, as the company releases updates for five cameras and four lenses. The interchangeable-lens Fuji X-T1 and X-T1 Graphite Silver are on the list of camera updates, as are the fixed-lens Fuji X100S, X100S Black and S1. And for good measure, the XF10-24mm, 18-55mm, 18-135mm and 55-200mm lenses also get improvements.
We'll start with the X-T1 and X-T1 Graphite Silver, which are now brought up to firmware version 3.10. Both of these near-identical cameras get the same three functionality improvements. Non-TTL flash strobes will now fire when the shutter is set to mechanical+electronic, and a bug that caused Fujifilm PC Autosave functionality to stop working when the camera's LCD turned off has been corrected. Finally, when set to the PC Shoot Fixed USB transfer mode, the camera will warn you that images won't be saved to the internal flash card, and that the camera won't shut down if powered off or the lens is removed without first connecting a USB cable to transfer images. You can get the new X-T1 series firmware from Fujifilm's website.
Next up, we have the Fuji X100S and X100S Black. Again, both of these cameras share the same version 1.20 firmware update, with two firmware improvements made. The menu items relating to the optional wide and tele conversion lenses available for these cameras has been reconfigured, such that you can now either disable conversion lens use, or configure the wide or tele lenses, all from a single menu item. When using the tele conversion lens, the camera will also now show a bright frame in the optical viewfinder corresponding to the field of view with the lens in use. Get the new firmware here.
Finally for the cameras, we come to the updated firmware version 1.02 for the Fuji S1 superzoom. This makes but one change: An improvement in image sharpness when shooting in continuous burst mode. You can download the Fuji S1 v1.02 firmware update here.
