The Super Troopers are officially coming back, thanks to the generous donations of fans.

The Indiegogo campaign for Super Troopers 2 finished over the weekend, after raising $4.4 million (specifically, $4,447,785) during its 30-day fundraising window. The campaign proved popular from the start, earning $2 million to hit the original goal in one day, before doubling that number over its entire run.

When the campaign kicked off, Broken Lizard said the film could begin shooting as early as this summer if they reached their goal. And now it looks like they’ll have that opportunity thanks to the contributions of more than 51,000 fans.

The largest campaign perk chosen by a contributor was the $35,000 tier, which will let one lucky fan take home the actual patrol car from the film (after the entire thing has been shot, of course).

As Variety noted, Super Troopers 2 is the second biggest fundraising campaign for a film behind the Veronica Mars movie. It beat out other high profile films like Wish I Was Here and Con Man.

Unfortunately, the movie fell short of its $4.5 million stretch goal, which would have ensured live bears would be used in the film. Maybe for Super Troopers 3.
