This Legendary Sheep Had The Heaviest Fleece Of All Time

    Take that, New Zealand.

The verdict is in: Australian sheep "Chris" has absolutely smashed the Guinness World Record for heaviest sheep fleece in the world.

After weeks of unverified reports of an enormous sheep lurking near Canberra, Australia, Chris was captured by the RSPCA in early September.

It is thought he had lived in the wild without being shorn for over five years.

It took a team of five shearers – including sheep-shearing champion Ian Elkins – about forty minutes to strip Chris of his very thick coat.

    And the final fleece weighed A WHOPPING 41.1 KILOGRAMS. 😱 😱 😱

This translates to just over 90 pounds.

The fleece toppled the previous world record holder – a sheep named Big Ben from New Zealand, whose fleece weighed a comparatively paltry 28.9 kilograms.

The newly-shorn Chris is now living out the rest of his record-holding days in his new home on a farm in New South Wales.

    Chris, you've made Australia proud.
