You stare at the humming green pod and imagine Karkat, your friend, leaping and trying to slash at your stomach, your throat. Doing it out of fear and obliviousness, only to find out what he'd done later. Even if you'd revive (and you're pretty certain you would), he'd never be able to live with himself.
