Nebraska announced the completion of the 2017 football schedule with Arkansas State filling the final vacancy on Labor Day weekend. Nebraska has played the Red Wolves twice, winning 38-9 in 2009 and 42-13 in 2012. Arkansas State has won the Sun Belt Conference title three out of the last four seasons, meaning the Red Wolves are one of the better "body bag" games available on the schedule.
It comes at quite the cost, though:
Just been told the payout is $1.65 million for #ArkSt's 2017 trip to Nebraska. School record for sure, ASU is getting $1.3 mill from USC.

Granted, Nebraska currently grosses over $5 million in revenue for each home game, plus a share of the Big Ten's television revenue for the game. So it still makes financial sense to play this game in Lincoln than play a better foe on the road.
The entire 2017 Nebraska football schedule:
Sat. Sept. 2 Arkansas State
Sat. Sept. 9 at Oregon
Sat. Sept. 16 Northern Illinois
Sat. Sept. 23 Rutgers
Sat. Sept. 30 at Illinois
Sat. Oct. 7 Wisconsin
Sat. Oct. 14 Ohio State
Sat. Oct 28 at Purdue
Sat. Nov. 4 Northwestern
Sat. Nov. 11 at Minnesota
Sat. Nov. 18 at Penn State
Fri. Nov. 24 Iowa
Pretty solid schedule, with road games at Oregon and Penn State, plus back-to-back visits from Wisconsin and Ohio State.
Note that starting in 2016, the Big Ten will begin playing nine conference games each season, leaving three nonconference foes each season. For reference, here are the upcoming non-conference schedules for the Huskers:
