DTI steps up surprise inspections in provinces

With the holidays drawing closer, the Department of Trade and Industry stepped up its surprise inspections in stores selling Noche Buena items in the provinces.

In Ilocos Sur, a DTI team conducted a surprise inspection in Bantay town, checking if the stores follow the suggested retail prices, GMA Ilocos reported.

"Kasi tradition sa atin yung Noche Buena so para masiguro namin na hindi sila magte-take advantage," DTI Ilocos Sur supervising trade and industry specialist Charie Quodala said.

Last Monday's inspection showed no violations by stores, the report said.
