STAMFORD — Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with a 2012 shooting that left one dead and three wounded, police said Thursday.

Randy Francis, 24, of Stamford, and Flachan “Lou” Charlestin, 23, of Bridgeport, were both charged with murder in the death of Darius Jones on July 8, 2012, police said.

Jones was one of four men who were shot while leaving a party on Custer Street, police said. The other three men survived, but the bullet that struck Jones entered his heart and killed him.

Police suspected that Francis and Charlestin were involved early on, but did not have enough cooperation from witnesses to obtain arrest warrants, police said. They continued working the case and obtained warrants charging both men this week.

Bail has been set at $2.5 million for each suspect, police said.
