Leaving home for the cemetery this Undas? Heed these tips from PNP

Filipinos leaving home to spend Undas (All Saints' and All Souls' Days) at the cemeteries this weekend may want to heed six tips from the Philippine National Police on how to secure their homes.

The PNP posted the tips Thursday in an infographic on its Twitter account, where it reminded residents to secure their homes before leaving for the cemeteries.

Among the tips were:

  • Do not let many people know no one will be in the house, to prevent burglars from targeting your home.
  • Make sure all doors are locked and windows closed.
  • Do not leave appliances plugged in, or candles lit or your stove unattended.
  • Install a burglar alarm.
  • Close the curtains to prevent people from peeking into the house.
  • Inform a trusted neighbor or friend on when you will return.
