To the editor:

If you want to know what makes Tarrytown America's Prettiest Town as voted by Forbes Magazine, August 2013, take a stroll down Main Street or Broadway and enjoy the geranium planters hanging on the light posts.

In partnership with the Village of Tarrytown, a group of caring people in the community donated money to help purchase the hanging geranium planters in town. This project was spearheaded by a group on Main Street a few years ago and quickly expanded to include Broadway. The response of merchants and residents in the community to purchase these flowers is unique.

A very special thanks to the Sleepy Hollow Tarrytown Chamber of Commerce, the Village of Tarrytown, Jen Ross, Theresa McCarthy, Stacy Belkind, Chris Brazil and Joanne Murray for organizing this project.
