Night Closures of Pair of Saw Mill Ramps for Entire Month

The closures are in Elmsford and Dobbs Ferry.

Night closures of two ramps to and from the Saw Mill River Parkway in Elmsford and Dobbs Ferry will continue throughout the month of August, the state Department of Transportation announced.

The closures will allow crews to perform construction activities, weather permitting. Closures are anticipated to occur Sunday through Friday, until Friday, Aug. 28.

The northbound entrance and exit ramps for Exit 21E (Elmsford Route 119 East) and Exit 21W (Tarrytown Route 199 West) to and from the Parkway in the Village of Elmsford are expected to be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Both northbound and southbound entrance and exit ramps for Exit 17 (Ashford Avenue) to and from the Parkway in the Village of Dobbs Ferry are expected to be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

A signed detour will be in place, but motorists may experience delays, officials said in a statement.

Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.

“Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone,” officials said. “In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.”
