Emmerdale's Fiona Wade: 'I wish I was taller'
EMMERDALE'S Fiona Wade, 35, reveals her beauty and style tricks...
Which beauty products do you swear by?
NUDE Perfect Cleanse Omega Cleansing Oil. It’s natural and, after a day at work wearing lots of make-up, it leaves my face very fresh and clean. I follow that with Kiehl’s Ultra Facial cream. It’s so hydrating; it makes your skin dewy and soft.
If you put good things into your body, your skin is going to look great.
What are your essential cosmetics?
MAC eye liner. I like the brown kohl called Teddy. I also love Maybelline’s The Falsies Volum’ Express Mascara and Benefit’s Watt’s Up! – a beautiful highlighter for the cheeks. A bit of that and I don’t have to wear foundation.
What’s your top beauty tip?
I have a juicer and try to make juices every day – green juices such as spinach, avocado and apple. If you put good things into your body, your skin is going to look great.
Do you diet?
I’ve never dieted. I have small genes – I’ve been lucky like that – but the older I get, the more I’m aware of what I put in my body. I’ll try to eat lots of vegetables and not too much junk, but I don’t deprive myself. I love steak and fries.
How do you like to pamper yourself?
If I have a free afternoon, I might book myself a massage. Me and a few girls at work sometimes do that together. A girlie afternoon.
If you could change one part of your body what would it be?
I sometimes wish I was taller. I’m 4ft 11in and always have to wear heels. I feel people listen to me more in heels.
Who’s your ultimate style icon?
Victoria Beckham – she’s smart, but chic and sassy.
How would you describe your style?
I’d like to think I’m quite elegant. I’m not conservative, I like things with a bit of an edge, but I’m smart. Although I like to be very casual with it… I love ripped jeans and a T-shirt teamed with a sexy blazer and high boots.
What’s your favourite clothes shop?
Zara – on trend for a very good price. I bought a few scarves there the other day for autumn.
What’s your all-time favourite outfit?
The dress I wore for the 2014 Soap Awards is probably the best I’ve ever worn. It was by young designer Adam Shaw. It was a hand-stitched, nude lace dress. Elegant, delicate and gorgeous.
What is the most you have spent on an item of clothing?
About £800 on black suede Louboutin ankle boots. I’ve got size one feet, so that’s my excuse; it’s hard to find size one shoes unless they’re designer!
Emmerdale is on ITV from Monday to Friday at 7pm.
