Former Invicta FC atomweight titleholder Michelle Waterson will move up in weight to the UFC women’s strawweight division and make her octagon debut at The Ultimate Fighter 21 Finale on July 12.

Waterson (12-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC) will face “The Ultimate Fighter 20” contestant Angela Magana (11-7 MMA, 0-1 UFC) at the event, which airs on FOX Sports 1 at an as-yet-unannounced location and venue in Florida.

UFC officials announced the matchup late Wednesday evening.

Waterson will enter her debut following her first defeat in nearly five years. She suffered an upset loss to Herica Tiburcio at Invicta FC 10 in December and lost her 105-pound title in her second defense.

“The Karate Hottie” had earned six consecutive victories with five stoppages prior to her title loss. That winning streak included a submission via flying armbar.

Magana is set to make her sophomore octagon appearance and will be in search of her first victory since August 2011. She has lost her past three bouts and that includes a unanimous decision defeat to Tecia Torres at The Ultimate Fighter 20 Finale in December.
