After searching for quite some time, I had given up on finding an air purifier until I found this jewel on-sale for half off original price as a daily deal! I wish I had bought another one or two when they were on sale. I run our unit on high when cooking fish to help with the odor and it does great. I also run it on high in the living room for at least a few hours daily to keep the air fresh. Almost a month in, and I am still very pleased with the unit. The noise level on high and medium are a bit loud since it almost doubles as a fan on those levels. I do put it on low at night so we can sleep without hearing it at all. Due to it working so well, I noticed a decent amount of build up on the back filter. I didn't even need to open it since it was easily removed with the vacuum attachment. I am not sure the filters will actually last two years before needing replacements per the manufacturer so I plan to do a monthly upkeep to help it last. I have read on other reviews that the replacement filters are expensive, that would be the only con I can really find to accurately review this unit for others.

This is an amazing quality air purifier. I could immediately feel and smell the difference. The air is lighter, it removes any odors, dusty smell, anything, very quickly. True Story: I had an accidental situation where I turned the burner off from the other side of the cooking island in the kitchen. I walked away to find I had turned it to high, not off. Thanks to my dog barking to tell me I stopped to look back at the kitchen. It smoked immediately and was a you have to move quickly situation, so I put the lid on the pan, turned to open the doors and windows or the alarms are going to start sounding and I thought, this purifier said smoke too...So I decided to put my new purifier to the uber test. I was blown away how fast the smoke disappeared, the smell, I have halogen lights right above the counter and there were thick streams of light through the smoke, that just disappeared right away. No smoke, no smell, it was really cool. This is an amazing quality item that does work. I am very impressed with how it actually cools the rooms more by adding to the air conditioning and makes the rooms smell fresh like rain. I like it a lot and plan to buy several more.

I bought a GermGuardian which I had no issues with but when this was 50% off as a Deal of the Day, I had to test it out.
It definitely does what its supposed to do. It is quiet and having different speed settings is a must. My problem is that you need to put it 12" from the wall and with this design, there is no easy way do that AND make it blend into its surroundings.
I also don't like that I have to go buy new filters for it. I've had it for about a month and will start looking into getting them now since I don't know the cost or how easy it will be to get.
I think if I were to have paid full price for this, I would've returned it and got another GermGuardian but if you don't mind the design of it, or having to buy new filters, it'll definitely do a great job.

I have only owned this filter for a about a month, but so far, so good.
Very quiet operation.
Definitely seems to help improve the air quality in our house.
Solid design.
The filters are a little pricy, but that is typical of all filters these days, whether for your air purifier or the water line for your fridge.

So far, it feels like this Sharp air purifier is working as expected and my remarks are being made on the assumption that it IS working as advertised. I bought this for my daughters dorm room that had sat empty and exposed to humidity all summer. Upon the move in date in late August, we were almost knocked over by a punch of mold and mildew when the door was first opened. The dorm maintenance crew was called and they disinfected the entire room so we could move in the next day. Although the room was cleaned overnight, I still purchased the SHARP Plasmacluster ION Air Purifier and believe it is keeping up with the residual job on a going forward basis. I am not giving this a 5 Star only because the jury is still out for me, but it feels like it is doing a fantastic job for the space it was purchased for. I have since purchased two more air purifiers for my home.

I've been using this for about a month now moving it around room to room as needed. I don't leave it on for more than about 8 hours at a time so maybe that's not enough for it to work at maximum efficiency. I can see that it is pulling dust out of the air when it is running in the morning sunlight in the bedroom and I guess there is less dust on the floor and furniture. At any rate, it runs quietly, is not an eyesore, and is very light to move place to place. I added another foam prefilter to the back to hopefully extend the life of the hepa filter. Time will tell.

This is the second sharp purifier I bought. Effective and quiet for my bedroom and living room, though the price is not the cheapest.
