A conversation about race during the Fox News show “Hannity” took an explosive turn Monday night when legal commentator Leo Terrell went after the host and his conservative guest.

Terrell was outraged that the host, Sean Hannity, had described President Obama as “a three-time loser on high-profile race cases.” He objected to Hannity casting the first black President as a villain while “in Oklahoma, a bunch of white privileged kids used the N-word about people like me!”

Terrell was referring to a fraternity at the University of Oklahoma that was kicked off campus on Monday after allegedly being caught on video singing a racist chant.

“Why don’t you talk about Oklahoma today, Sean Hannity?” Terrell shouted.

Guest Deroy Murdock, a black conservative columnist, eventually broke in.

“I was under the impression we were going to talk about the Selma march,” Murdock said.

“We’re talking about racism!” Terrell shot back.

Terrell went on to criticize the Hannity’s show for ignoring a Department of Justice report about racial bias in Ferguson, Missouri.

Murdock responded that “the whole controversy revolved around the notion that Darren Wilson was a racist white cop who shot Michael Brown because of racism.” But Murdock agreed that the DOJ report showed institutional problems.

“You’re only talking about it, Mr. Murdock, because I’m challenging you!” Terrell said. “Shame on you, Mr. Murdock! Shame on you.”
