American Photo Magazine has announced it is ceasing operations, effectively making its latest issue its last.

Explained in a print out attached to the front of American Photo’s March/April issue, Editor-in-Chief Mariam Leucther explains American Photo’s physical publication’s discontinuation is effective immediately. As for the online version of American Photo, Leucther says it’s still in operation and will be updated regularly.

For readers who have a remaining balance on their American Photo subscription, Leucther explains that for each issue owed, readers will instead receive two issues of Popular Photography, also owned by Bonnier Corporation. If readers have a subscription to both magazines, the remaining issues owed from their American Photo subscription will be tacked on to the end of their current Popular Photography subscription.

PetaPixel states that in early 2015, parent company Bonnier Corporation reported American Photo had a print circulation of roughly 100,000 and an audience of almost 1.1 million. However, no sources have been cited, as it appears Bonnier has removed all online mentions of American Photo’s readership and circulation numbers.
