When Budi was rescued earlier this year after spending the first 10 months of his life crammed in a chicken coop surviving only on condensed milk, the little orangutan couldn't even sit up on his own.

Now he's settling in to his new life at the International Animal Rescue in Indonesia with roommate and fellow rescue Jemmi.

The best friends are making lifestyle changes together, including a switch to solid foods. Even though they retire to their hammock every night, their caretakers hang up fruit like rambatan and guavas in their abode so they get a taste of what it's like to forage in the wild.
