The Extraordinary Mashup Artist Who Samples Amateur YouTube Musicians Is Back

Producer, musician, and remix artist extraordinaire Ophir Kutiel, aka Kutiman, has ended the five-year hiatus on his massively popular Thru-You project. Today, he released a groovy mashup sampling amateur musicians throughout the far reaches of YouTube culture. GIVE IT UP features bits and pieces of a young pianist wearing princess pajamas, a trombonist in his backyard, and a vocalist sitting on her couch belting melodies into her smartphone—togther forming a stunning composition.

GIVE IT UP is just a sample of a larger release, Thru-You Too, out on Oct. 1. Until then, get your populist mashup fix by blaring GIVE IT UP, and all of Thru-You, on repeat. And to all you YouTube musicians on the web—keep an eye out for your face on Kutiman's YouTube channel come October.
