USA Today: Bengals are best team in NFL

The Cincinnati Bengals are 3-0 after their Week 3 win over the Tennessee Titans.

Andy Lyons

The Bengals are 3-0 and riding high heading into their Bye Week. After a 33-7 beatdown of the Tennessee Titans, Cincinnati is 3-0 for just the seventh time in franchise history.

Even more impressive is that the Bengals have outscored their first three opponents 65-10 through the first three quarters. The defense has suffocated opponents into committing seven turnovers, an average of 2.33 per game.

Oh, and the Bengals are the lone undefeated team in the AFC after three weeks. Needles to say, Cincinnati has one of the best teams in football.

Do they have THE best though?

For the Win, part of USA Today Sports, says "yes".

Where’s the weakness? When Week 3 ends on Monday night, the Bengals should have a top 10 offense and defense. They’ve given up 33 points, which is the lowest in the NFL (with the exception of Carolina, who plays tonight). The team’s 80 points scored are second-most in the AFC, behind only Indianapolis. And no other team has a longer current home winning streak than Cincinnati’s 11. (No, not even Seattle.)

Given Cincinnati’s early-season play, their clear status as alpha dog in the AFC North and throw in the good karma of the Devon Still story, what’s not to love?
