Pacquiao arrives in LA to begin training for Mayweather fight

Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao has arrived in Los Angeles, United States to start his training for his highly anticipated fight against Floyd Mayweather.

Pacman launched himself to light training as soon as the fight was announced last week, and then flew to USA on Saturday night (PHL time) to begin his training in the Wild Card gym.

The boxers are scheduled to share a ring on May 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, giving them roughly two months to prepare for boxing's richest megafight.

Pacquiao, 36, is seeking to be the first man to put a blemish in Mayweather's perfect career record, while the 38-year-old American fighter would erase doubts to his legacy in facing the best foe the generation can offer.

Both fighters are staking their respective WBO and WBC welterweight belts in the unification bout, which is expected to generate $300 million. —JST, GMA News
