Red Cross Offers Blizzard Preparation Safety Tips

Stamford residents should stock up on water, food, flashlights and emergency kits in order to be prepared for the blizzard.

The National Weather Service (NWS) is predicting a blizzard for the Stamford area that’s expected to pummel our area Monday through Tuesday night.

The American Red Cross recommends being prepared ahead to time in order to stay safe in a blizzard. Winter storms can intensify quickly over just a few hours from a snowstorm to a blizzard with blinding, wind-driven snow that makes for hazardous situations.

Blizzards and storms are accompanied by dangerously low temperatures and this blizzard that has been predicted by the NWS is expected to have strong winds which could cause power outages.
