14 DAY TRIAL // If you thought Christian Bale’s infamous rant on the set of “Terminator: Salvation” was outrageous, you should know that 61-year-old Dennis Quaid can be quite the worthy competitor for the title of World’s Most Epic Rant from an Angry Actor on a Movie Set.
A video of Dennis going on a massive rant on the set of a new movie has emerged / leaked online and gone viral. It hasn’t been traced back to a solid source yet, so there’s still a chance it might be some sort of prank.
“This is the most unprofessional set I have ever been on”
Embedded below, you will find a video of Quaid’s angry outburst, which looks to have been shot by one of the crew guys on a cell phone. All the profanity has been bleeped out, so it’s ok to listen even if you happen to be more easily offended. The full, unbleeped version is online on YouTube.
There is no context provided for this video, which popped up on Reddit. The poster only said that Quaid had lost his mind and went on a major rant before storming off the set. You can hear him slamming the door at the end, after he’s spoken his mind.
Among the insults he hurls, he calls his fellow actors zombies, and crew members “[expletive]heads” for walking through his scene, when he’s “acting here!”
“I can't even get a line out until Dopey the Dick starts whispering in your ear, and you’re not even watching anymore,” he yells. “This is the most unprofessional set I have ever been on. This is horse [expletive]!”
When another man, probably the director, tries to talk some reason into him, Quaid shoots back “Don’t you [expletive]ing ‘Dennis’ me!” and then decides to walk out on the entire crew. Because he is a pro and obviously can’t work in such conditions.
A shocking outburst or a well-rehearsed prank?
Because there are some similarities between Quaid’s outburst and Bale’s infamous rant, which also started when a DP walked through a scene and got Bale out of the mood (he is notoriously Method and difficult to work with), some believe this could be a prank of some sorts.
Redditors even say that this could be a skit for Jimmy Kimmel’s show, though chances are slim that Kimmel would ever greenlight a hoax with so much profanity. It would simply not make much sense after editing out all the cuss-words, if you think about it.
Secondly, Dennis seems quite beside himself with fury in the video. He is a good actor, but the anger feels very real: almost too real to be acted, they say.
In other words, most people believe the incident is not staged and that it probably took place on the set of a new movie. Again, if you ask Reddit, you will find out that the movie is called “Don’t You [expletive]ing ‘Dennis’ Me!,” stars Dennis Quaid, Dopey the Dick, These [expletive]ing Zombies Over Here and This [expletive]ing Baby, and will be out in the fall of 2015.
