Yeah I bet everyone wants to know how the heat is. I'm also wondering about the quality of the p-oled display, like resolution, color accuracy, etc. Also, does it have an SD card? And how is LG's Lollipop build on it?

UK only got review devices today. That's going to take time. That said there's definite throttling going on (as was the case on the G3, by the way) at higher temps — for example if you're charging the phone while signing into a bunch of accounts over LTE, and updating *all of the things*. That said, so far the 'Flex certainly doesn't seem worse than the G3 in either respect.

1. Yes, 2. Probably not. (But the G4 probably will.)

See above on thermals, etc.

P-OLED is decent enough. There's a slight grain, like you might remember from older SuperAMOLEDs (like the Gnex). Color accuracy is fine (contrast enhancement in effect, but nowhere near as crazy as on the G3), as is daylight visibility. Overall brightness + vividness is nowhere near top SuperAMOLEDs like the Note 4, but it's a good enough display.

LG's Lollipop is practically identical to Lollipop on an updated G3. Main difference is the buttons.

How easily does it fit in pockets, and is the UI dark like the 1st gen G Flex?

The UI is mostly the same as the G3. There are some darker wallpapers, and the soft keys default to dark now, not light.

Pocketability is good on the whole. An easier fit than an equivalent flat 5.5-incher. That said, that self-healing back is a pretty bad lint magnet.

I'm interested in how sturdy the phone is... could you go without a case? Is it vulnerable (particularly at the corners / edges) if dropped?

just wonder where is the hot spot on this phone for example when i had my Samsung S3 it was the bottom. also compare to a nexus 5 or the sony z3 where does it fit in.

When it rests on a table or flat surface, does the camera module glass touch? I found on my G3 the uv coating on the camera glass got worn off from how it lies. Most likely from sliding around in a golf cart.

Also, any possibility of a qi charging mod?

This isn't really a flagship per se. The GS6 (and G4, and maybe even the Sony Z4, eventually) will probably have better cameras than this. The G Flex 2's camera is very similar to that of the G3.

I always go without a case. And in fact LG says the phone's shape makes it less prone to breakage, not more. An LG exec beat the crap out of one of the demo units we saw in Vegas and it was no worse for wear. I've been more gentle with our review unit though.

Around the top, near the camera and back buttons. Overall, probably fits somewhere near the Z3.

1. It's ever so slightly raised off table level.
2. Unlikely. No contacts under the battery door for Qi.

What do you see in this phone that make it really stand out? I'm debating between getting the g3, wait for the flex2, or wait for the g4.

Also, how is the speed... done any benchmark tests? It has the 810 - am I right that it is 64 bit?

No benchmarks yet. Performance seems decent, if variable. Certainly not a quantum leap beyond good Snap 805 phones.

As for what makes it stand out: Curved design, bendy chassis, self-healing back. What makes it a good phone though is the fact that's basically just a slightly better G3.

The red is actually more muted than I remember it being. Looks nice enough.

Internationally it's flamenco red. On Sprint it's volcano red because volcanos aren't red but the stuff that comes out of them is red and also volcanoes are exciting and people will buy the phone if they think it's exciting like a volcano.
