Natalie, 36, welcomed her first child Wilf to the world this January with husband Owain Walbyoff in tow.

The Sky Sports beauty was six days overdue with her firstborn baby when disaster struck and a series of events ensued.

Speaking to The Sun, Natalie explained: "I was rushed in for an emergency caesarean as they found I was filled with meconium, effectively poo which the baby could then breathe in."

Despite having an epidural, Natalie wasn't able to wait long enough for the painkillers to kick in before surgeons had to get to work.

She added: "I said yes and they said there was no time anyway, so I felt the knife across my stomach and my organs wiggle about.

"It was traumatic. Had my waters broken naturally we both probably wouldn’t have made it."

Lifting the baby out of her, Natalie described her joy at hearing her son cry for the first time - and thinking the hardest part of her journey was over.

Little did she know, the TV presenter was to be presented with yet more issues when she developed pre-eclampsia and high blood pressure.

After spending time in hospital on the high dependancy unit, thankfully Natalie made a full recovery and has been encouraged to talk about her experiences to help her deal with the realities.

The TV presenter is understandably besotted with her bundle of joy Wilf and posts plenty of pictures of the baby onto Instagram.
