It's easy to focus on all the big games coming out but here are some indie studios sure to make waves in 2015.

What about
Hello Games No Mans Sky
MDHR Cuphead
Tequila Works Rime
Q-Games The tomorrow Children
Wild Sheep Wild
I think all of those deserve recognition.

Relientk773396d ago

Very suprised none of those are on the list

SmokingMonkey3396d ago (Edited 3396d ago )

Are you hinting at some sort of bias?

Impossible. Everybody knows there's no bias or corruption in journalism. (Interesting note: one of the kids in my British lit class today said his parents are journalists, and the industry is sordid as hell; strange that people think gaming journalism is so much more clean, even though we've seen otherwise.)

while the studios you mention have interesting projects in the works non of them are currently highly critically acclaimed developers like those refered to in the article. Will that mean they shine brighter this year than the rest, i dunno there's lots of competition out there vying for that indie spotlight as you point out.

We could spend days on which company should be on which list. No one would be satisfied, but I agree that maybe SCS Software could have been replaced with Hello Games as I think No Man's Sky is a better fit.

OpieWinston3396d ago

I don't think anyone expects WiLD to come out in 2015... Considering how massive the game is going to be.

DougLord3395d ago

N4G does NOT consider No Man's Sky an Indie. It is AAA GOTY material.

Where is Bro Force? Where is Ori? Where is Massive Chalice? Where is Below? Where is Everyone Has Gone To The Rapture?

Does Phantom Dust qualify as Indie?

DarkOcelet3395d ago

I wrote those on my other comment up there and no Phantom Dust is AAA JRPG.

I agree with DarkOcelet, but at the same time, I'm glad SCS Software was mentioned in the article. I am excited for American Truck Simulator.

Sounds like the sequel to Big Rigs.

;)

Someone needs to come in a snatch up Playdead and Double Fine. These two studios constantly make quality, fun and engaging games.

Limbo to me was hands down one of the best new releases of last gen. The atmosphere and telling of the story without words or any narrative was terrific. And so haunting too, such a scary environment for a little child to traverse, I was so concerned of not dying because I just don't want to see children hurt.

LIMBO!

DigitalRaptor3396d ago (Edited 3396d ago )

Double Fine are die hard indie and big enough to operate and gain success without being bought out in my opinion. Kinda like Telltale Games. Their principal focus is allowing creative and independent ideas to flourish. I think their recent problems have been making too many games at once. I love their workflow, but it has got them in a spot of bother. I doubt they will ever agree to be bought though, not as long as Tim is around.

You are so right. It is the only way creative can stay creative. I love there work flow also!

purebennyc3396d ago

Seems like a strange list to me....

Surprised that Ragtag with Rays the Dead and Pixelbomb with Beyond Flesh and Blood are not on the list and instead we get a couple of games that I don't think are getting many people excited.

wonderfulmonkeyman3396d ago

I'm personally hoping for Half Genie Hero and A Hat in Time to both hit this year.
The latter especially; it's looking to be some good old fashioned Banjo-Kazooie-like gameplay.
