Add NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment to the growing list of TV networks saying they no longer will announce Live + Same Day data on a regular basis, instead reporting ratings based on Live + 3 Nielsen measurements. This adds Bravo Media, E! Entertainment, Esquire Network, Oxygen Media, Sprout, Syfy and USA Network, to the roster of networks saying they only will announce L+SD data for live sports/entertainment, specials, and event programming.
“Increasingly, Live+3 metrics are a more accurate reflection of the performance, appeal and reach of our networks’ original programs,” said Liz Mahaffey, EVP, Brand Strategy for NBCU Cable Entertainment.
“Considering ever-growing use of DVR, VOD, digital and other non-linear viewing options, L+SD is merely a chapter in a much larger and more diverse ratings story,” Liz Mahaffey, EVP, Brand Strategy for NBCU Cable Entertainment, said in today’s announcement.
In its email to press, NBCU noted some of its programs that have seen significant ratings performance boosts from Live + Same Day to Live + 3:
USA’s Graceland (+83%)
Bravo’s Top Chef (+81%)
Syfy’s Dominion (+80%)
USA’s Royal Pains (+77%)
USA’s Suits (+70%)
Syfy’s Defiance (+70%)
Esquire Network’s Friday Night Tykes (+65%)
E!’s The Soup(+65%)
E!’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians (+51%)
Bravo’s Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce (+50%).
