Linda DePreta, 71, Lifelong Stamford Resident

STAMFORD, Conn. – Linda Boccuzzi DePreta, a lifelong Stamford resident, died on Monday, March 9 at home. She was 71.

She was born on Sept. 3, 1943, to Gerardo and Grace (Lionetti) Boccuzzi. DePreta was a hairdresser for 53 years, having worked at Chateau Coiffure in Greenwich and J. Pierre Salon in Stamford. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. DePreta was a constant presence at her grandchildren's football, baseball, lacrosse games and dance recitals, which brought her unending joy.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Vincent J. DePreta; her son, Dean and his wife, Nicoletta of Stamford, and three grandchildren, Joseph, Dean and Michaela DePreta. She is also survived by a brother Theodore of Port Saint Lucie, Fla.; and a sister, Yolanda Sapia of Norwalk.

She was predeceased by a sister, Maryann Cornelio.

Calling hours will be held at the Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Ave., Stamford on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Ave., Stamford. Interment will take place in private.
