Restaurant Donates 100 Percent of Sales to Help Employee Fight Cancer

A restaurant in Texas donated 100 percent of its sales Thursday to help an employee battling breast cancer. According to NBCDFW, Donna Jones — a staff member at an Arlington outpost of California-based buffet chain Sweet Tomatoes — has faced numerous hardships the past few years. In 2013, her teenage son died, and earlier this year, her breast cancer returned.

The restaurant decided to help Jones out with her medical bills by donating all of its sales Thursday. Jones' manager Stephanie Cape tells the news station, "We're a family ... So we wanted to do anything we could do to help out our family member." Sweet Tomatoes CEO John Morberg even flew to Texas "to show his support."

Just earlier this month, another Texas restaurant was involved in a good deed. A couple visited a local restaurant for a meal. When the waitress found out they had lost their newborn baby just a few weeks before, she decided to do something nice for the couple. So she paid for their meal herself and left them a note saying "Your ticket has been paid for. We are terribly sorry for your loss." Check out the local news story below:
