May 14-24, 2015, Toronto
We are pleased to announce that the 2015 workshop will host two visiting guest mentors: prominent Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho and pioneering electronic-music composer Jean-Baptiste Barrière. Combined they represent a spectrum of approaches between acoustic, electroacoustic, and electronic music—a wonderful opportunity for composers who are increasingly fluent in both worlds.

ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY DECEMBER 15th (midnight)
The workshop consists of a variety of activities over a ten-day period including classes, rehearsals, and concerts. Each participating composer is required to create a new piece for soloist and electronics, or small ensemble (selected from violin, flute, and soprano voice). Each work must include an electronic component, although the method in which electronics are incorporated is at the discretion of the composer. Video elements may also be included as part of the work. Participants must submit this new work before the workshop begins, as it will be rehearsed throughout the ten-day period and performed on the final day of the program.
Thanks to our generous sponsors, there is no fee to attend the workshop. Participant accommodations and per diem are also covered.
