Sandiganbayan sets conditions for Bong Revilla’s visit to son Jolo

While the Sandiganbayan has allowed detained Sen. Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. to visit his son Jolo in the hospital, the anti-graft court set conditions for the visit, including limiting his access to communication devices, and forbidding him from giving interviews.

"The use of any means of communications and electronics (phones, cell phones, Internet) by the accused and those who will accompany him shall be under the control and supervision of the PNP. Media and other news interviews shall not be allowed," the resolution, issued Tuesday, said.

Revilla is currently detained at the PNP Custodial Center over his graft and plunder charges in connection with the alleged P10-billion pork barrel scam.

The younger Revilla, meanwhile, is confined at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Muntinlupa with a gunshot wound to his upper right chest after he allegedly accidentally fired his gun while cleaning it Saturday morning at their Cavite home.

In its resolution, the anti-graft court tasked the PNP to secure Revilla during the detained senator's visit to his son Jolo.

"PNP OIC Deputy Director General Leonardo Espina, in coordination with the sheriffs of this court, should provide adequate personal escorts and security measures in all movements and dispositions of accused Revilla," the resolution said.

The anti-graft court also allowed Revilla to leave his place of detention as early as 1:30 p.m. to maximize his time with his son.

"Revilla shall be transported from his detention cell at Camp Crame not earlier than 1:30 in the afternoon to the Asian Hospital and to no other place, and he will be allowed to stay there not beyond 8 pm of the same day, and thereafter he shall be returned immediately to his detention cell at Camp Crame," the resolution said.

However, the court reminded Revilla that he is to shoulder all expenses incurred by the PNP outside Camp Crame.

"All expenses to be incurred by the PNP in connection with the personal escorts and security measures in all movements and dispositions of accused Revilla outside Camp Crame until his return to his detention facility shall be shouldered and paid by the said accused," the resolution said. — RSJ, GMA News
