The Second Ave. subway has been delayed so long, Mayor Bloomberg isn’t so sure he’ll live long enough to see it open.

“I’m 71; I’ve got a 50-50 chance of living to see the first person on it, but not much more than that,” Bloomberg said Tuesday.

The MTA said it expects the first phase of the Second Ave. subway project to be completed by 2016.

“We hope and fully expect Mayor Bloomberg will . . . celebrate his 75th birthday by taking a ride on the Second Ave. subway,” said spokesman Adam Lisberg.
