Hot 100 Chart Moves: Grammys Spark Gains for Kanye West, Miranda Lambert & Annie Lennox
All three acts bullet following their Grammy performances. Plus, Drake ups his count to 80 career Hot 100 hits & more.
As previously reported, Mark Ronson‘s “Uptown Funk!,” featuring Bruno Mars, rules the Billboard Hot 100 for a seventh week, while Taylor Swift enters the top 10 in style — and with “Style,” which surges 18-10.
Who else makes fashionable moves on the Hot 100 this week?
Kanye West, “Only One,” feat. Paul McCartney
The 57th Annual Grammys, which aired Feb. 8 on CBS, spur several gains on the Hot 100, including West’s 69-45 jump with “Only One,” which he performed that night. It’s the ballad’s best rank since it debuted at No. 35 five weeks ago. “One” re-enters Digital Songs at No. 28 with an 82 percent gain to 43,000 downloads sold in the week ending Feb. 15, according to Nielsen Music.
Drake
As If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late blasts onto the Billboard 200 at No. 1, five songs from the set enter the Hot 100, led by this track at No. 49. He ups his total to 80 Hot 100 entries, the sixth-best sum in the chart’s history. And, with Lil Wayne guesting on Drake’s “Used To,” a debut at No. 91, Weezy ups his count to 125 career visits. Miranda Lambert, “Little Red Wagon”
Back to the Grammys: “Wagon” rolls onto the Hot 100 at No. 76 following Lambert’s performance of the song at the festivities. It starts on Digital Songs at No. 46 with a 105 percent vault to 31,000 sold. The track is her latest country radio hit, lifting 25-22 on Country Airplay.
Ariana Grande, “One Last Time”
Grande sang ballad “Just a Little Bit of Your Heart” at the Grammys, but it’s not her new single from My Everything: “One Last Time” is, and it starts at No. 80 on the Hot 100. As previously reported, it’s the top debut (No. 28) on the Pop Songs airplay chart.
Annie Lennox, “I Put a Spell on You”
Following her performance of the classic on the Grammys in a medley with Hozier, Lennox reaches the Hot 100 for the first time since 2008 and for the second time in 20 years. “Spell,” new at No. 97 and from the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack and, first, her 2014 album Nostalgia, is up by 303 percent to 29,000 sold. In 2008, she spent a week at No. 80 with “Many Rivers to Cross.” Before that, she reached No. 23 in 1995 with her pop gem “No More I Love You’s.”
