SAP has secured multiple partnerships to bring Internet of Things (IoT) solutions to the enterprise on a global scale.

Announced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain on Tuesday, the software giant said the first of these new partnerships has been signed with global Internet of Things (IoT) platform provider Jasper. The Santa Clara, California-based firm has designed a global software-as-a-service (SaaS) IoT platform for corporations to cost-effectively launch and monetize IoT solutions, and currently serves over 1,600 companies. In addition, Jasper has solid partnerships with with 24 mobile operator groups, representing over 100 mobile operator networks worldwide.

Under the terms of the new partnership, Jasper's platform will be integrated with the SAP HANA platform, which the companies say will "create business value for customers and partners by analyzing service subscription and usage data."

"Jasper has helped over 1,600 enterprises across more than 20 industries around the world transform from product businesses to service businesses," said Jahangir Mohammed, founder and CEO, Jasper. "We believe having the Jasper platform integrated with SAP HANA will increase business value by providing actionable insights into Big Data and shortening the time to market for IoT services. We are delighted to collaborate with SAP to work to bring these new capabilities to enterprise customers globally."

SAP and Jasper have completed a successful proof-of-concept test with a pilot customer and are currently collaborating on market entry strategies.

In addition, SAP and T-Systems also announced a new agreement, in which the SAP Connected Logistics software and the Connected Car solution from T-Systems -- a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom -- will merge. The partnership, inked as an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement, will further develop the smartPORT logistics networking solution that has been successfully used in the Hamburg Port Authority.

The objective of the platform was to give companies and customers traffic information and services related to the port via mobile devices, and to make the logistics processes in the port easier. SmartPORT logistics is now being offered at other logistics hubs.
