Last year, we showed you a preview of the work that we’re doing to make one of our guests’ favorite areas at Magic Kingdom Park even better. Today we’re happy to share that several new sections of the Central Plaza area between Main Street U.S.A. and Cinderella Castle are now open.

This marks the first milestone in our multi-phase project that will add in sculpted gardens, new pathways, and expanded restaurant seating. And beginning February 27, the FastPass+ viewing location will relocate from the the Rose Garden Fireworks Viewing Area to the Main Street Plaza Gardens (an area adjacent to The Crystal Palace).

  • If you can get a Fast plus For these areas great if not then you are out of luck and the coolest view is from the train station and i am sure that is also blocked out.

  • coming down soon and looking forward to it

  • It looks beautiful. Now if only something could be done about the person who always seems to come stand in front of me at the very last moment and puts their kid up on their shoulders.

  • I’m curious, is it designed that people will stand only on the pathways or will they stand on the grass too?

Looks so beautiful, open and inviting!

  • I agree with Barbara’s post about the benches. Please provide benches! Also, I’d love to see before and after aerial photos side by side.

    • Work is still continuing in the area. Please stay tuned for new photos and other assets!

  • When is the crane anticipated to come down?

  • Will the fireworks viewing area only be in front of The Plaza or will it be in front of Casey’s Corner as well?

  • Am I the only one disappointed that the “grass” is astro turf?

  • OMG it looks fantastic and so much more room for traffic flow which I think is the BEST part of it. I am excited to see it in person. 🙂

  • Such beauty. Such magnificence. Such grandeur.

Now, bring this idea to Disneyland, in CA! 🙂

  • It’s beautiful but I keep looking for the Partners statue so I could figure out what angle the pictures were taken from and I can’t see the statue anywhere. Is it going to be put back in place?

    • Yes, it will. Please stay tuned!

  • Looks beautiful. Will they be putting the benches back? One of the best things about MK is being able to sit and relax on a bench while taking in all the sights. It would be a huge disappointment if they don’t put seating back in.

  • It looks good. However, I did like all the green grass. To me there was no better view of the castle than standing just outside Crystal Palace. But I’m sure this will be wonderful when I see it in person in 8 days! Can’t wait. I’m sure it will be a blessing for congestion relief.

  • We are coming from March 22 to March 27 and could not get fast pass for fireworks any night ! We are also DVC member.

  • In that first picture, it looks like there’s a roped off reserved seating area for wheelchairs. I like the idea of putting greenery in front of the seating area so people can’t stand in front. It gives a little breathing room during the fireworks show so the view of the castle isn’t blocked. I hope there are more spaces like this throughout the hub!

  • I just love the fountain. I cant wait til Uncle Walt and Mickey get unboxed!

  • We were there a month ago and saw lots of walls. The area looks beautiful! Thank you for sharing the pictures!

    • I agree. It’s turning out wonderful.

  • Very pretty! I can’t wait to see it in person!

    • 🙂

  • This looks amazing! It’s much needed extra space for that area.

    • It’s turning out wonderful!
