Netflix is bringing back original series “House of Cards” — continuing Frank Underwood’s diabolical schemes — for a fourth season.
The series, starring Kevin Spacey as President Underwood and Robin Wright as his plotting wife, will return with all-new episodes in 2016. “House of Cards” is produced by Media Rights Capital.
Netflix said the fourth season of “House of Cards” is set to begin production this summer.
The series’ cast for season three, in addition to Spacey and Wright, included Michael Kelly, Mahershala Ali, Jayne Atkinson, Nathan Darrow, Molly Parker, Elizabeth Marvel, Derek Cecil, Jimmi Simpson, Paul Sparks, Kim Dickens, Lars Mikkelsen, Benito Martinez and Rachel Brosnahan.
The hourlong drama — Netflix’s highest-profile original series — is based on the BBC miniseries of the same name. “House of Cards” is executive produced by David Fincher, Beau Willimon, Joshua Donen, Eric Roth, Kevin Spacey, Dana Brunetti, Andrew Davies and Michael Dobbs. The series is produced by Donen/Fincher/Roth and Trigger Street Productions in association with Media Rights Capital for Netflix.
Spacey won a 2015 Golden Globe award for best TV drama actor for “House of Cards,” while Wright won a 2014 Globe for best actress in a TV drama for the show.
