The Canadian star, 46, revealed last August she was cancelling all her concerts to focus on looking after husband and former manager René Angélil, 73, who had a cancerous tumour removed from his throat in December 2013. The diva also said she needed to recover from an illness that caused inflammation of her throat muscles. Acts including Sir Elton John, Rod Stewart and Shania Twain covered her Sin City absence.

And while updating fans about upcoming changes to her act at the city's Caesars Palace hotel on the singer's website, Celine's comeback was announced by Aldo Giampaolo, the president and CEO of her label Feeling Productions, who said he "would like to reassure the public and fans alike that Celine will return to the stage but no dates have been confirmed".

The five-time Grammy award winner first started performing at the luxurious hotel in 2003 after she signed up to perform 600 concerts of her A New Day show over three years.

The run was so successful it was extended until 2007. Grossing £270million, it was seen by nearly three million fans. The singer, who is mum to Rene-Charles, 14, and twins Eddy and Nelson, four, returned in 2011 with her new show Celine, which she promised would include "all the songs from my repertoire that people want to hear".

Her final performance was on July 29 last summer.
