National Journal magazine has hired John B. Judis as a senior writer, announced Richard Just, editor of NJ magazine, this afternoon.
Judis, author and former senior editor for The New Republic, will write feature stories for the magazine in his new role — including the next issue’s cover story, “The Emerging Republican Advantage.”
“John Judis is a truly extraordinary magazine journalist, someone who writes brilliantly about the intersection of politics, policy, history, and ideas,” said Just in a press release. “I am so excited that he’s joining us at National Journal, as we continue to build our print magazine into Washington’s premier venue for smart, thoughtful, beautifully crafted long-form journalism.”
Aside from his 20 years spent as a senior editor for TNR, Judis has had his work published in the New York Times Magazine, New York Times Book Review, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, GQ — and has written several books including Genesis: Truman, American Zionism, and the Origins of the Arab-Israeli Conflict and The Emerging Democratic Majority (which he co-authored with Ruy Teixeira).
